Amero? Never heard of it, and it would be impossible to change the currency at this point without seriously upsetting the international market. Most of the worlds import/export and stock markets are built up around the almighty Dollar and changing that would simply be impossible.
On every U.S $ bill there’s a little note that says “This note is a legal tender for all debts public and private”…meaning it’s “borrowed” and it also means it’s value can rise and fall based on the Federal Reserve. So if the FR decided to drop the value of a $ bill, our money would just be worthless paper, not that it already isn’t, but not many people know this.
If you look at an older U.S dollar bill (dating back before 1940’s) there’s also a note that says the dollar can be redeemed in gold, meaning…it had value.
Only the U.S uses this method of money manipulation…the plan of the Amero is to do the same…combine all the money between 3 nations so it can be regulated by one…private, unquestioned and untouched so called branch of the government known as the Federal Reserve…
U.S did really want to push for an Amero…i remember watching a lobbyist on CNN talking about it, but i don’t think other countries bought into the BS.
Although this isn’t even planned, I wouldn’t be against it. Currency is a barrier to globalization. If the countries of the world are going to live on a fair and equal level with each other, we need to get rid of these obstacles, and promote commerce with everyone.
I laugh at all of the previous answers (besides a few above mine) because it really makes people look stupid. It will only be a matter of time before these people wake their little heads up and see where the world is going. This makes me so mad how stupid people are..
I have read about this situation, and it appears the information I have gathered differs substantially from the other respondants.
Indisputably, the U.S., Canada, and Mexico are working on a collective prosperity and protection zone (Security and Prosperity Partnership). What is less clear is how far they are pushing for the blurring of our borders and signs of national sovereignty.
For those who think this is some loony conspiracy story, you must never have seen the tv new reports done by Lou Dobbs in which he exposes this plan.
Here is my view, which is probably markedly different than that of most Americans, because I currently reside in Europe: the Euro is kicking the Dollar’s butt (to be blunt). If oil revenues stop being denominated in dollars, huge, massive damage could be done to our economy.
I believe the leaders of the U.S., Canada, and Mexico realize that our individual currencies cannot compete against the Euro, and that we need to have a common currency of our own, which will be supported by three large economies, and eventually by all the countries comprising North and South America.
I am firmly against this plan. I don’t want to see our national sovereignty eroded. Perhaps this agreement will finally encourage Mexico to end its legendary corruption and finally evolve into the economic powerhouse for which it has the potential to become.
I am willing to stand up against this step towards an eventual “One World Government”. I truly believe it could happen… perhaps 200 years into the future, but eventually, yes.
Addendum: I just love getting thumbs down on answers like this. My response here is more in line with supplying information, so what is your objection? Hearing the truth? If a teacher shows you the location of Greenland on a map, would you boo and say, “I don’t like facts that conflict with my own ideas.”
I’m sure the people of Europe thought the Euro was BS too.
Vincente Fox has said publicly that He and Bush were in talks to possibly merge our 2 countries somewhere in the distant future but Canada didn’t want any part of it. You can find the videos on Youtube. There are several of them. The one I’m taking about was a Larry King Live eposode.
Time to find a new country if the Amero is adopted.
I think it is another step closer to a One World Government under the thumb of a group of elite that do not have our best interests in mind.
The links posted before by someone above show it all. There are so many signs of this occurring, the people who think it’s a conspiracy theory are either controlled by fear or are in denial. Do some research and it becomes very, very evident through history. Question the interests of your sources of news.
Be smart with how you spend your money. In fact, start bartering with your neighbors now, install solar panels and start growing your own food. How useful would that have been during the depression.

The Amero will come right about the same time Bigfoot and the Trilateral Commission explain why they killed JFK.
In other words, stop believing every conspiracy theory that comes down the pike.
